Maybe you are stuck at this point in your life? Have you hit a roadblock or setback? You’re here reading this because you want more from your life. You are tired with where you’re at and have had enough.
Life can leave you stranded if you allow it. Through the difficulties and failures comes the greatest growth. You can choose to step into your greatness or become your own worst enemy. The lessons I have learned through overcoming challenges will help you to persevere whatever you are going through.
Here are 5 things I’ve learned through overcoming challenges:
- Control what you can control
Don’t bother wasting your time over things you have no control over. You have no control over other people, the weather, whether you get into your dream school or job. Once you begin to learn what you do have control over you will find your freedom. Things you do have control over are your attitude, effort, persistence, work ethic, emotions, who you decide to hang around. Take back your power and do not give it away to things that are out of your control.
- You will lose people along the way
I’ve always heard the expression that you are lucky to have a few close friends by the end of your life that you can trust. It’s important to know who you can trust in your inner circle. The rest of the people who come and pass through your life are acquaintances. Be careful of who you allow into your inner circle and remember that you are the average of the five people that you associate yourself with.
- Self-Doubt and Resilience
When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. It’s one thing to have high ambitions but being able to overcome all the doubt along the way to the top builds resiliency. Whenever you are aiming at high goal the doubt will start creeping in and you will start to question whether it’s worth it. Do not let doubt paralyze you and force you to settle for less. You overcome self-doubt by taking action and making the jump. You have the power to control the situation and get past all your doubts.
- Fear Being Average
The worst thing to have happen is go to the end of your life with the music still left in you. Imagine going through the rest of your life and at your death bed with coulda’s, woulda’s, and shoulda’s. Make the jump! Whether it is trying something new for the first time who the hell cares if you fail at least you tried. The most successful people try the most amount of things in their life because they do not let failure hold them back.
- Be Grateful for what you have
It’s very easy to lose perspective and get into the cycle of negative thinking. I’m not another guru to tell you how to achieve your wildest dreams. I do know when you count the things you have you will realize how grateful you truly are. Instead of resorting to toxic behaviors live constantly in a state of gratitude. Gratitude is the antidote to any of your problems. Count your blessings and not your problems.
