The path of least resistance calls us each day to settle for whatever is easy. Sometimes the hardest task for some people is just to get out of bed before 8 am. I prefer waking up at 5 am because I know that the average person is sleeping and I will have an advantage over them. Everything worth doing will suck initially but will give you freedom in your life. Do the hardest tasks for the day first thing in the morning. Knock out whatever it is that is hard. Procrastination comes from overthinking, time wasters, and making up bullshit excuses. Discipline yourself to get it done right away. It will build up confidence within you and then you will not have to make up an excuse about why you couldn’t get it done.
Success consists of all the small things repeated over and over again. It just does not happen overnight. Have a target in mind then put one foot in front of the other. Don’t expect to achieve a large goal in a matter of 6 months or even a year. That is the truth and shit takes time. So be patient and trust the process. There are plenty of short term fixes to get you to be weak in the moment. Like they say in the Seals, “THE ONLY EASY DAY WAS YESTERDAY”. Be better than who you were yesterday and build on top of that. Brick by brick.
There is no need to compare yourself to anyone else besides yourself. The only one who you should be comparing yourself to is the person to who you were yesterday. The goal should be to be better from the day before. Do not even bother trying to compare yourself with other people. Everyone is on their own journey and if you want to get to a higher level than seek out mentorship! The reason why we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind the scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel. Suffer today and get your reward tomorrow.
The best results I have seen in my life is from doing whatever it is that is hard! If it was easy then everyone would be doing it. That’s why you see the bars full on the weekends because it’s easy to go there and get plastered. It’s easy to QUIT. It’s easy to not finish whatever job you are working on to settle for less. Mediocrity has infested its way in this society. Don’t feel like going to the gym, GO! Don’t feel like putting in another hour into studying to settle for Netflix, go STUDY. You will start feeling a lot better about yourself when you accomplish whatever difficult tasks. You can’t expect to feel good when you are constantly procrastinating and wasting time.
The best tools to incorporate to help procrastination is writing out your goals the night before and writing them out again in the morning. Hang them up in your bathroom mirror, mark them in your phone, and take action. The worst place is to be is in your own head. Get out of your head and get it done. Do not let negative thinking run its course when you are going after your goals. We have about 2,500 to 3,300 thoughts per hour, therefore, it is critical to not get attached to them.
I hope these tips can help you succeed in your ventures and crush your goals as they worked wonders for me. CRUSH IT!
