I’ve studied the most successful people and looked at what they were doing others won’t. It’s not that they had any unfair advantages over other people. They were hungry and had this one trait into their life called self-discipline. The ability to get things done without procrastinating or allowing distractions to get in the way. Self-discipline is the bridge between success and your accomplishments. Having discipline into your life to do the everyday tasks in front of you will alleviate any regret. The more discipline you have in your life the more freedom you will obtain. It’s not willpower but lack of discipline that is holding you back. Motivation tends to come and go but incorporating an insane amount of discipline into your life will get you to your goals much faster. You can live through the pain of discipline or regret. Remove all the time wasters from your life that is getting in the way of your goals. Watching television is a complete waste. It’s all junk that is feeding your mind with crap along with any video games. Limit your time using alcohol and going to the bars. If you want to increase your productivity your mind can’t be clouded with garbage. Remove the garbage from your life.
You can start by taking discipline on the small tasks each day. First thing when you get up in the morning are you going straight to social media and the news? None of these tools are productive unless you are using social media to give you tips and tools that will add value to your life. Starting your day off will dictate the momentum forward. Every individual has 24 hours on the clock each day to make the most out of it. Lack of discipline can set you back if you allow yourself to get sucked into all the external noise. There are so many ways to get better yet people lack the discipline to keep themselves focused. Stay locked in. Don’t get sucked into what everyone else is doing. You have control over the amount of discipline you will incorporate into your life. If you follow Navy Seal, Jocko Willink, he is up every morning at 5:00 am getting his workout in. Beat the sun and discipline yourself to wake up earlier each morning. The earlier you get up the more time you have to be productive. You have time to sleep when your dead doesn’t take life for granted.
Here are some ways to get discipline into your life.
- Have a goal planner: When you know where you are going in your life and have direction the motivation will come once you discipline yourself to do the things that will make you stretch each day. It will force you to get discipline in your life otherwise you will fail.
- Limit television time: Watching television is a complete waste of time. It adds nothing to your life besides watching other successful people become more successful or listening to the garbage of politics and the news. Why allow your mind to become consumed with this junk when you can be getting better. It’s all how you want to utilize your time. You run the day.
- Exercise your mind: Removing all the junk and toxic from your mind allows ideas to come in. If you are consumed with gossip, negativity, and what everyone else is doing you will not be able to stay focused. The mind is powerful and removing all the junk and toxic from your mind allows ideas to come in. If you are consumed with gossip, negativity, and what everyone else is doing you will not be able to stay focused. The mind is powerful and what you allow to come in determines your actions. Thoughts lead to words that lead to actions. Disciplining yourself to read daily, write out your goals, and meditate will drive up your motivation to achieve more.
I strongly believe that separates successful people versus unsuccessful is the amount of self-discipline that they have in their life. Have an insane amount of discipline to get the job done. Beat the clock and stay ahead of your competition.
